The second Beginner’s Programming session was held on Saturday, April 18th, via Zoom. Scott Kircher led the session and attendees learned about Events and Variables in Scratch.
Scratch is a visual programming language developed by MIT for teaching programming concepts without typing or syntax getting in the way. Events and Variables are fundamental building blocks of any but the most basic of Scratch programs, and are important concepts to grasp early.
In this session, attendees learned how to use these concepts to make a character move around the screen smoothly in response to user input. We will cover these topics in more depth in later sessions.
